TV Interview… plus SLIME!

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I was interviewed by the hilarious team from Studio 3 (ABC3). We chatted about my books and I completed a fun author challenge, which involved quite a lot of green slime being dumped on my head!

If you’re in Australia and you’d like to watch the fun, my interview (and sliming!) is due to air during Book Week later this month. Tune into ABC3 from 4:45 pm on Wednesday 26 August.

sliming skye

Thanks to the team at ABC3 for having me; I had a blast!

…………………..

And now for a completely unrelated side note…

I’d also like to thank all the awesome readers who have sent me emails recently. I always try to reply, but occasionally after hitting ‘Send’ I receive an error message stating that your email address doesn’t exist. (Presumably due to typos when the address is entered into my website’s contact form.)

If you’ve emailed me and haven’t received a reply, I’m really sorry and just wanted to let you know the reason. Every email means a lot to me and I truly appreciate your kind words about the books. Thank you!

Upcoming Events: Queensland & Victoria

1. Voices on the Coast (QLD)

In July, I’ll be presenting several writing workshops at Voices on the Coast Festival on the Sunshine Coast. This is a fantastic youth literature festival and I can’t wait to attend for the first time this year!

In other news, I recently received my author copies of The Hush.

It’s always such a thrill to hold a new book for the first time. Amazing to think that this time last year it was just a Word document on my laptop!

Sony Young Movellist Australia: Winner Announced

Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to be a judge in the Sony Young Movellist Australia competition. The results have now been announced on the Movellas website: http://www.movellas.com/blog/show/201408221132537516/sony-young-movellist-australia-the-winners

I was blown away by the quality of the shortlisted entries. Each manuscript had its own strengths and it was incredibly difficult to choose a winner.

Huge congratulations to the winner and runners-up! Your novels were clever, creative and a joy to read.

Congratulations also to every young writer who submitted a story. The standard of entries was exceptional. No doubt I’ll be seeing many of your names in the bookshops one day!
